Sundial Care Home was delighted to host the Tipton Summer Fete for a second successive year as family members were treated to the event of the year in Tipton!

Although none of the family members braved the Bouncy Castle there were plenty of other activities and stalls that were enjoyed by those who live at Sundial. Relatives of the Sundial family members who were visiting were delighted that they were treated to an event of such splendour right on their doorstep.

Fete Chairman Mike Smith, whose late mother Joan was a well-loved family member of Sundial, expressed his delight that the family members at Sundial were able to participate in the Fete. The family members at Sundial were equally delighted to have been able to take part alongside all members of the local community over the August bank holiday weekend and for this, Sundial Care Home can’t thank the Fete organisers enough.

Renovation works at Sundial Care Home, named after the historic centre piece positioned within the grounds overlooking the Harpford valley, are nearing the completion and the care home is preparing to open 9 new luxury rooms.

The opening will mark the completion of the final stage of the four-year refurbishment project that first saw Sundial Care Home re-open in May 2016 and has seen significant redevelopments to the building and grounds at Sundial.

Each of the rooms offer beautiful countryside views and have been personalised with different fittings, wallpaper colours and accessories to give a home from home feel.

New Home Manager Maggie Rhodes, who has taken the reigns from Lorraine Molloy, will be taking the home into this exciting new chapter of development. Maggie was previously Home Manager at Frome Nursing Home where they were rated with five ‘Goods’ on last inspection and she has been brought in to maintain the ‘Outstanding’ standards of care set by Lorraine.

Evolve Care Group are extremely grateful for Lorraine’s passion, love and success throughout the past three years, having overseen the household model of care that has seen Sundial rated as ‘Outstanding’ for care provided by regulator CQC.

Lorraine has decided to return home to South Wales for a while to be closer to her family. So, although she won’t be managing Sundial for the time being, she will still be a part of the Evolve family as she has agreed to manage a newly purchased home. Lorraine will be continuing where she left off at Sundial by giving her love and enthusiasm to those in her care. We hope you join us in wishing her every success she will undoubtedly bring to her new home in South Wales.
