Catherine House Care Home invited petting farm, stalls and punch and Judy in to celebrate Easter!

The car park of Catherine House Care Home, based in Frome, Somerset, was recently transformed into a bustling Easter fete on Sunday, for residents, visitors and local stall holders, who all spent the afternoon together in the sunshine.

Stalls were set up in front of Catherine House, inviting people to stop for a look at all the unique crafts, bakery treats, and other creations available to buy from the local independent stall holders.

A Punch and Judy show also drew a crowd, with the traditional characters providing lots of entertainment to those who watched including the children.

The kitchen team cooked a BBQ lunch of fries, burgers and hotdogs, enjoyed outside alongside Easter cakes, tea, coffee and ice cream from the ice cream van.

Family member, Malcolm, happily took his time moving around the stalls with his can of Pepsi, and family member Ruby enjoyed a warm beverage with her daughter who came to visit.

Twinnies Petting Farm were also there, giving people the chance to spend time with the animals and it was great to see the Frome community passing by and stopping to peer over the wall, drawn in by what was happening. The spring lambs were a fan favourite, but joining them was a regular visitor to Catherine House, Wilma the Donkey, alongside some adorable chicks, and a Shetland Pony!

Later in the afternoon, Sharon Chard, the home’s Activity Coordinator, appeared as the Easter Bunny, walking between everyone and handing out Easter eggs.

There was balloon animal making too, and in the days leading up to the fair, time had been spent making Easter bonnets, with tables covered in paper ears, felt flowers and pens. Some were worn on the day, including one made by family member Barbara.
