Our central support team in Bristol recently spent an evening giving out homemade bags filled with winter essentials to the homeless community living in Bristol this Christmas. We partnered with #PizzaExpress who generously donated free, fresh pizzas, and for those who didn’t fancy a slice, we donated Greggs vouchers to accompany this. Starting at Pizza Express Harbourside, the 20-person team is spread out across the city center and surrounding neighborhoods, connecting with anyone who may be in need of the carefully put-together bags providing warmth and personal supplies.
A study carried out by NHS Bristol found that the city was reported as having the second-highest number of street homelessness nationally, and donating supplies can mean the matter between life and death for many people living here. It doesn’t have to be a grand gesture, just a sandwich, a bottle of water or a blanket can be a lifeline.
Altogether, our team met and connected with 30 people around Bristol, and are now preparing for the same in and around the city of London, where 60 bags will be delivered to those in need.
Spread the kindness this Christmas.
