Gibraltar Nursing Home came together in a burst of colour and community spirit as team members marked Red Nose Day with a series of light-hearted activities to raise money for charity.
Red Nose Day is a nationwide fundraising campaign organised by Comic Relief, supporting people facing hardship in the UK and around the world.
The team were encouraged to take part by dressing in bright outfits or costumes, with odd shoes, and colourful wigs bringing plenty of laughter into the home. One family member (resident) chose to join in the fun by wearing mismatched socks for the day. Outfits ranged from Pac-Man to a rockstar and even a foam strawberry, with prizes awarded for best dressed which went to team members Bridget, Verity and Mark!

Face painting was also available in the home’s Pillars restaurant, in which both the team and family members were encouraged to join in.
Alongside this, a bake sale was held using cakes, homemade by members of the team, as well as in the home’s kitchen, which visitors of the home could choose from, with all proceeds going towards the charity. The activities brought a real feel of community in the home and offered an opportunity for people to come together and be a part of something shared.
Home Manager Verity shared, ‘The day was about everyone coming together and having a bit of fun for a good cause. Whether it was a funny hairstyle, a bright outfit or even odd socks or shoes, it was lovely to see everyone getting involved in their own way.’
