The children at Kymin View Primary School put pen and paint to paper to create heart-warming Christmas cards for all residents, fondly referred to as family members, at Gibraltar Nursing Home in Monmouth. Their sweet and thoughtful messages inside brought smiles to many happy faces.
The cards were created as part of a community campaign to help prevent loneliness at Christmas. Some people don’t have relatives to send them cards, so a few kind words can really help to alleviate alienation. It reminds them people care and that they matter.
A teaching assistant at Kymin View commented, “The children enjoyed making the cards for the family members at Gibraltar. We really hope they enjoyed receiving them and that they all have a Merry Christmas.”
Gibraltar Nursing Home is based in Monmouthshire, South Wales, and is a part of Evolve Care Group. Its approach to life recognises the identity of each of the family members who live within the home.
